BOB THE WOODTURNER WILL BE A FEATURED ARTIST AT THE GALLERY OCTOBER 4 TO NOVEMBER 7, 2011.
Polymorphous, adj., “having, assuming, or occurring in various forms, characters, or styles.” I thought this an apt description of my wood turnings for this show. My craft is always changing in form, from a tree, to a log section, to a block of wood, and then to a final form that reveals ever changing patterns reflected in the wood grain and other characteristics of the wood. The pattern revealed in the apple wood bowl photo is a fine example. Though it started from a log section from a tree, what do you see revealed in the grain pattern of the final bowl? Hint: they roam the jungle.
